Patti Wilson Byars

Patti Wilson Byars is a graduate of the University of Georgia where she was a member of the Dixie Redcoat Band. She has a master's degree in education from the State University of West Georgia. She is a native of Jonesboro, Georgia, the setting of Separate Fountains. Patti Wilson Byars is a graduate of the University of Georgia where she was a member of the Dixie Redcoat Band. She has a master's degree in education from the State University of West Georgia. She is a native of Jonesboro, Georgia, the setting of Separate Fountains. She was a teacher with the Fulton County Georgia schools, and a College of Education instructor in the following colleges: Georgia Southern University, Florida Atlantic University, The Pennsylvania State University and Florida State University. She has supervised over 200 student teacher interns. She is a Presbyterian and a member of Phi Delta Kappa and the American Association of University of Women. Widowed at age 38 she has two grown children. A percentage of the proceeds from the sale of Separate Fountains is being used to set up college scholarships for education majors who are single mothers or the children of single mothers. Separate Fountains is based on her childhood memories. See less
