Patricia Moyes (1923-2000) was a British author best known for her "Henry Tibbett" series: traditional mysteries led by an unflappable Scotland Yard detective and his equally insightful wife, Emmy. In the late 1950s she began turning out mysteries and continued to do so--with occasional breaks to write about her beloved cats--for the next forty years.
