Pat Jones was born 1934 in Slough, Berkshire. Her family came from Winsford, Cheshire but she lived in nine different English counties before eleven years in Nigeria, punctuated by a stay in Holland during the Biafran troubles. From there, she moved to Aberdeen and then to Assen in Holland, back to Aberdeen then finally to Northamptonshire, England. Pat trained as an Art teacher in Barnet and also as a catwalk model at Lucie Clayton's in London. She has enjoyed success with acrylic paintings, mainly local landscapes and has exhibited around the Aberdeen area since 1977. She started writing with the Children's Newspaper in 1963 and later had a story on BBC's Listen with Mother. Turning to adult features she covered many topics from Railways to Hairstyles. She wrote many features for The Leopard Magazine, a local publication covering the Grampian area. These were about local budding entrepreneurs with small industries in the early 1980s. Then a series on memorial towers and follies on local hilltops followed. Pat also traced the long forgotten Inverurie canal, writing its history, illustrating it with her own photos and paintings and giving two talks to local clubs on the subject. Her latest article describing her writing history has been accepted by Scribble magazine. Married to a native of Snowdonia, she came to know and love North Wales. This inspired her to write 'Bangor Bus' her first novel, which features character studies of the very different passengers on a bus. Her second novel, based in West Africa, also has character studies, but is a romance between two expatriates and is set against the background of coup d'etats, executions and the everyday life that runs parallel with these events. Both novels are available as eBooks or in paperback via http: //... Pat can be contacted via patj85@gmail.com and is part of Northants Authors (... and northantsauthors@gmails.com)." See less
