The author or co-author of eight books and over 100 articles, Shockley-Zalabak teaches courses in organizational communication and has research interests in building high trust organizations through communication. She has consulted with Fortune 500 companies in strategic communication planning and the development of team-based organizations. Shockley-Zalabak has consulted and engaged in research in Italy, Spain, Canada, China, India, Poland, and Russia in addition to over 30 major locations in the U.S.A. She is a winner of numerous University of Colorado awards and Colorado awards for community engagement. Her community work focuses on access to education for low-income, first generation, and students of color.
