Oliver Tickell is a freelance environment journalist, one-time environment correspondent at The Independent, and a regular columnist in Resurgence magazine where he writes about 'Sensible Solutions' to the world's problems. He has been following the science, politics and economics of climate change for many years. A graduate in Physics from Oxford University, he returned to Oxford to pursue a career in writing and broadcasting after working in the computer software industry in California, Massachusetts and London. In the 2001 General Election he stood as the Green Party candidate for the Henley constituency, where he more than doubled the Green vote. His professional interests have since extended into web design, and he is currently working on an internet-based campaign to remove health-damaging trans fats from the British diet. See less
