Nick van der Leek is the great grandson of the famous Dutch artist, Tinus de Jongh. After a short career as a triathlete, and a few stints working and travelling internationally, Nick worked as a freelance photojournalist, soon becoming one of South Africa's most diverse and successful freelancers. Nick van der Leek is the great grandson of the famous Dutch artist, Tinus de Jongh. After a short career as a triathlete, and a few stints working and travelling internationally, Nick worked as a freelance photojournalist, soon becoming one of South Africa's most diverse and successful freelancers. He regularly produces features for GQ and Country Life. Nick is currently working on the biography of Roland Schoeman, the multiple Olympian and world champion swimmer. Besides true crime writing and photography, Nick is a passionate sportsman. In another life he climbed Mount Kilimanjaro, rafted the Zambezi and completed the Ironman. These days his pursuits are more modest: he hopes to finish a Park Run in less than 24 minutes and compete in the Durban half Ironman in June 2016 in under 5 hours. See less
