Mrs Aeneas Gunn

Mrs Aeneas (Jeannie) Gunn (1870-1961) was born in Carlton, Melbourne and worked as a teacher after graduating from Melbourne University. In 1901 she married the explorer, pastoralist and journalist Aeneas James Gunn. Together they travelled to a remote outback station at Mataranka in the Northern Territory. When her husband died early in 1903, Gunn returned to live in Melbourne. Jeannie's first book, The Little Black Princess: a True Tale of Life in the Never-Never Land, was published in 1905....See more
