Millicent Musyoka is an associate professor in the Department of Deaf Studies & Deaf Education at Lamar University. She has a Ph. D. in Deaf Education from Gallaudet University. Millicent Musyoka is an associate professor in the Department of Deaf Studies & Deaf Education at Lamar University. She has a Ph. D. in Deaf Education from Gallaudet University. Dr. Musyoka was a leader in deaf education in Kenya, where she worked as the lead curriculum specialist in deaf education at the Kenya Institute of Education, Curriculum and Research Center. Currently, she teaches in the masters and doctoral programs at Lamar University. Her research interests are in the areas of early language and literacy development of deaf children, deaf with multiple disabilities, multicultural/multilingual education, family collaboration, and teacher training. Her recent edited book is on Deaf education and challenges of bilingual/multilingual students. Her teaching expertise is in working with deaf students and families from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
