Meet The Author: MIKE CALLIE Since the 60s, Mike Callie - picking up the mantle of his friend and mentor, the late, great Lenny Bruce - has been the king of the off-color and politically-incorrect bad-taste jokes. Starting with classic shows such as The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson, Laugh-in and Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour, Hollywood Squares etc. Callie quickly branched into making two very successful joke-based off-color movies, If You Don't Stop It...You'll Go Blind!! and its hilarious sequel, Can I Do It...'Till I Need Glasses? - which made Callie a millionaire several times over - something his four ex-wives were eager to help him with. Following his success in Hollywood, in the mid-70s Callie created the first of what became a chain of a dozen comedy clubs, the Laff Stop, across America - one of the first comedy clubs to actually pay comics for their talents. This made it possible for stand-up comedians such as Jay Leno, David Letterman, and Robin Williams to actually make a living. Two decades later, he began publishing joke books that - perhaps because they were so thoroughly politically-incorrect and funny - captured a market niche and refused to let go. His biggest hit was the comedy best-seller, The Official O.J. Joke Book, which sold more than 100,000 copies in 1995 & 1996. It succeeded by lampooning America's obsession with the unconvicted murderer, O.J. Simpson and the maddening media circus of his trial. Twenty years later, Callie realized that there hadn't been a good collection of bad-taste jokes published in the 21st Century. He remedied this problem in 2015 by publishing a set of 14 bad taste joke books, each a politically incorrect tour de force which went after all the major untouchable and protected minority groups in our society with humor and laughter. On June 27, 2016, Callie launched what he felt was his best-ever joke book, one that takes apart the craziest Presidential election campaign of all time: The Hillary, Bill, Monica & Friends Bad Taste Washington D.C. Joke Book. It is available at www.badtastebooks.com, Kindle, Amazon.com. and your favorite bookstore. The book has, as Callie says, Something to Offend Everyone and Make Them Laugh. You Really Need These Laffs!! See less
