Michael Counsell

Michael Counsell is a retired clergyman of the Church of England, at present living in Birmingham, England. After gaining a degree in science at Cambridge, he did his compulsory National Service in the British Army in the Royal Artillery, the same regiment as his father had served in during the 1914-18 war, and Michael's brother David did in Korea and many other countries. Michael Counsell is a retired clergyman of the Church of England, at present living in Birmingham, England. After gaining a degree in science at Cambridge, he did his compulsory National Service in the British Army in the Royal Artillery, the same regiment as his father had served in during the 1914-18 war, and Michael's brother David did in Korea and many other countries. Michael has had a varied career in the Church, serving parishes in Birmingham and London, and overseas in Singapore, Saigon during the Vietnam War, and the Seychelles islands. Several times he has been a chaplain at the Oberammergau Passion Play. After he retired, he served as locum priest in Hamburg, Strasbourg, Athens, Corfu and Tangier. He has visited many other countries, speaks several languages, and has written a number of books which are listed inside this booklet. See less
