Merle Travis

Merle Travis was a guitarist, songwriter, singer, actor, cartoonist, and inventor who pioneered the "Travis Picking" guitar style, and was inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame and the Country Music Hall of Fame. The Muhlenberg County, Kentucky, native is best known for such songs as "Divorce Me C.O.D., "So Round, So Firm, So Fully Packed," "Dark as a Dungeon," and the timeless classic "Sixteen Tons."
