Meg Pollard is a Professor of Accounting at American River College in Sacramento, California. She received her B.A. degree from UCLA in Economics-Business and her M.B.A. in Business Administration from California State University, Sacramento, graduating as the Outstanding Graduate Student of the Year with memberships in Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society and Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society. Professor Pollard began her career in accounting in the Audit Department of the Los Angeles office of Touche Ross & Co. and was employed as a Financial Analyst in the corporate headquarters of the Fortune 500 firm, Lear Siegler, Inc. Her industry experience has also included service as Director of Finance for a non-profit organization. Pollard is a Certified Public Accountant with an Active License in California and is a member of the California Society of Certified Public Accountants, CalCPA. She is listed in both "Who's Who Among Executive and Professional Women Educators" and "Who's Who Among Americas Teachers." Professor Pollard has taught Fundamentals of College Accounting, Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting, Intermediate Accounting, Payroll Accounting, Auditing, Computer Spreadsheet Applications for Accounting, Careers in Accounting, Concepts in Personal Finance, and Business Mathematics. She is co-founder and co-instructor of the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program at American River College, an Internal Revenue Service program in which student volunteers electronically prepare and file income tax returns for low-income individuals free of charge.
