Mary Goodell lives in Northwest Iowa with her husband Brian, and daughters Katie and Jennifer. She is an at home mom. Mary was inspired to write this story by volunteering at the local elementary school to listen to 1st graders read to her several years ago. The characters are based on Katie and Jennifer and their growing up experience.
