Mary Ellen Hopkins inherited a love of quiltmaking from both of her grandmothers. Nicknamed the EnergizerTM Bunny by friends, Mary Ellen had made and sold men's clothing, run a quilt shop, authored 10 books, and taught all over the world. She was committed to helping her students discover the artist within. A legend in the quilt world, Mary Ellen passed away July 2013.
