Marvin A. Lewis is professor emeritus in the Department of Romance Languages and Literatures at the University of Missouri-Columbia. He founded and directed the Afro-Romance Institute for Languages and Literatures of the African Diaspora and is the author of half a dozen books devoted to Afro-Hispanic literature.
