Marta De Paz was born in Guatemala city, also known as the city of Eternal Spring. Her mother worked each day cutting flowers in one of Guatemala's fragrant commercial fields and when she arrived home after sunset little Marta would search her dirty apron's pockets for the beautiful broken flowers she always found there.
