Since 1983, M. B. Clarke has been teaching at one of UC Berkeley's sister campuses, the University of California at Davis. At UC Davis, she has taught a wide range of writing classes, from basic composition and first-year writing courses in the essay and imaginative literature to advanced composition courses in legal writing and technical and professional writing. She has occasionally taught courses in her doctoral specialty of Middle English literature, and she designed and taught for the humanities program a course on narrative built on the idea of "retellings" in art and literature. Along with Nancy Morrow, M. B. Clarke is the editor of Currents of Inquiry, a thematic collection of essays written for use in first- and second-year writing courses. See less
