Mark S. Gerig is Chair of the Division of Graduate Counseling at Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion and Indianapolis, Indiana. He is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Licensed Psychologist and has over 28 years of experience in clinical mental health counseling and counselor education. He previously served as the Manager of Crisis and Elderly Services at Hiawatha Behavioral Health, Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan and as an adjunct professor of psychology at Algoma University, Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. Dr. Gerig has been a leader in state and national professional organizations. He has served as President and Chair of Professional Development of the Indiana Mental Health Counselors Association (IMHCA) and as a member of Professional Issues Committee of the American Mental Health Counselors Association. In recognition of his professional service, he was named recipient of the 2005 American Mental Health Counselors Association Counselor Educator of the Year and the Mental Health Counselor of the Year by the Indiana Counseling Association (2003). Dr. Gerig resides near Marion, Indiana, with his wife, Michelle, and daughter, Lauren. His son, Brandon, is a fish biologist for the state of Utah.
