About the Author: Marianne Arellano Pazos is a second generation American, and the bilingual mother of two children. She was born and raised in Miami, Florida, and until she had children, conducted most of her living and thinking in English. However, once her children were born, she made a conscious effort to speak in Spanish most of the time. She knows first-hand what a challenge it is to speak Spanish to your children, when English has become your stronger language. But, she also believes in the value of being bilingual. She writes stories about things children in the United States are likely to see, encounter, or imagine in their daily lives, and she writes in Spanish to help other bilingual parents bridge the language gap. About the Illustrator: Diana Arellano is a Telecommunications Major at the University of Florida, and is also an artist who has exhibited at many Florida art shows. She loves to draw and enjoys bringing stories to life with her fresh and youthful spirit. See less
