Professor Manolis Korres, Dr Architect-Engineer of the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) and Dr.Ph. h.c. Professor Manolis Korres, Dr Architect-Engineer of the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) and Dr.Ph. h.c. FU Berlin, responsible for the restoration works on the Parthenon from 1983 until 1999, teaches History of Architecture at the NTUA since 1999 and is a member of the Central Archaeological Council, as well as of various scientific committees of the Ministry of Culture which oversee the protection and conservation of monuments and sites, including the Acropolis. In his special field he studied under Charalambos Bouras and Gottfried Gruben. He has studied numerous historic monuments and subjects, and has published relevant articles and books. He has been awarded the bronze medal by the Academy of Athens, the silver medal by the Academie d'Architecture (Paris), the Premium Alexander von Humboldt and the gold medal by the Academy of Rome (Premio Internationale Feltrinelli 2013).
