Loy S. Harrell Jr. has been a decoy collector for 25 years. He is considered an authority on decoys of his native region, Vermont and Lake Champlain. He is the Author of "Decoys of Lake Champlain" 1986 and a contributor to "The Great Book of Wild Fowl Decoys" in which he wrote the section on Vermont. His book "Decoys, North Americas One Hundred Greatest" 2001 has sold over 5000 copies. The author and his wife Rae have created a large water fowl refuge on their land in Vermont, which includes five ponds, nesting sites, islands and water fowl vegetation.
