Liu Xiaodong
Born in 1963 in Liaoning Province, China, Liu Xiaodong received a Masters in Painting from the Central Institute of Fine Arts, Beijing, where he has been teaching since 1995. Considered the most important painter today in China, Liu has participated in international exhibitions including the 47th Venice Biennale, the Shanghai Biennale, The Asian Art Exhibition (1997), Post-China New Art (1989), and Liu Xiaodong: Retrospective (1990-2000), which was held in Beijing and San Francisco.
