She studied at Tuskegee University and earned a B.S. degree in Political Science. Highlights of her professional career include serving as aide to Civil Rights icon and U.S. Representative John Lewis in his Atlanta office, as well as co-managing a House legislative information office on Capitol Hill. Linda launched her writing career after she took her first trip to Ghana, West Africa and visited slave castles that still stand on the Gulf of Guinea. The trip energized her interest in African American history as well as a desire to induce a re-examination of the American slave experience to promote healing.
