Linda Bartee Doyne, author of The Immortal Alcoholic's Wife and Surviving the Chaos, is enjoying her new-found freedom from the constraints of caregiving her, now deceased, alcoholic husband. She has reconnected and developed a relationship with a man from her past. But she quickly learned that men and women don't always understand each other. When it was suggested that she write a book about the differences, she didn't hesitate to take on the challenge. As a woman who has survived many difficulties, she has the experience of life in her list of credentials. She is the significant other to Sam (the inspiration for this book); the widow of an alcoholic; a sister to four brothers; a cousin to five male cousins; a niece to four uncles; aunt to ten nephews; grandmother to three grandsons; an ex-fianc to two men; ex-girlfriend to at least a dozen men; and, a friend of too many men to count. Her experience with men began the day she was born and is still in progress. She is not a therapist, counselor, lawyer, doctor, or president of the PTA. In fact, she has never even belonged to the PTA. But, as a woman, she's experienced it all, sister, cousin, friend, wife, girlfriend, and even as a mistress. She's learned from all her experiences and shares what she's learned in this book. See less
