Prior to this position, he worked for several years as faculty with National Institute of Health and Family Welfare (NIHFW), Government of India, New Delhi. He is a recipient of fellowships from the WHO, World Bank and the British Council for Training in Health Economics and Financing. He has also served as a specialist in health economics on a project funded by the Government of Denmark. He was Officer-on-Special Duty (Health) with the Planning Commission, Government of India.
