Kayleen Reusser has interviewed hundreds of veterans of all eras beginning with World War II. Her military stories have been published in magazines, newspapers and books, including the News-Sentinel, America in World War II magazine, and others. We Gave Our Best: WWII Veterans Tell Their Stories contains 34 stories of men and women from around the U.S. who served in the Army, Army Air Corps, Navy, Marines. In June 2017 Reusser and her husband participated in a 2-week World War II tour of Europe, including France, Germany, Belgium, Luxembourg with visits to Normandy, Paris, Nuremberg, Dachau, Reims, and other significant areas. When speaking to groups about the tour and her hundreds of interviews with WWII vets, Reusser shows photos of Normandy Beach, Hitler's retreat center called Eagle's Nest and the courtroom in Nuremberg where war criminals were tried, while adding comments shared by veterans about being in those places during the war. Reusser has written 16 non-fiction middle-grade children's books on Greek mythology, celebrity biographies, ethnic cookbooks and STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) subjects.
