Dr Kanav Kahol is an assistant professor in the Department of Biomedical Informatics and Department of Biomedical Engineering at Arizona State University, Tempe, AZ. He is affiliated with Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center, Phoenix as a research faculty in simulation education and training center (SimET Center). He is also the manager of the Human Symbiosis Laboratory in the department of Biomedical Informatics at Arizona State University. Dr Kahol focuses on development of novel tools for medical education. Some of his research includes development of cognitive simulators, development of take home simulators, development of intelligent tutoring systems for medical education and modifying gaming consoles such as the Nintendo Wii to offer medical training. Dr Kahol's work in virtual worlds revolves around leveraging their potential to offer cognitive training environments for clinical teams and using them for collaborative decision making and developing persuasive environments to ensure better patient compliance.
