K.R. Nambiar has recently retired from the Indian Navy in the rank of Commodore, after serving for over 34 years. A unique achievement of this professor has been that, while negotiating through a very responsible and action filled military career at senior level, he has distinguished himself as a well qualified academician, a successful Defence Scientist and a talented and highly respected teacher not only in the Defence circles but also in the academic world outside.
