Julie Fontenot Landry, a Louisiana native, is the author, coauthor, or translator of many works for children and adults incorporating the state's history and folklore. She is the daughter of the late Louisiana author Mary Alice Fontenot, with whom she collaborated on numerous projects, including writing the music, lyrics, and piano arrangements for several books in the Clovis Crawfish series. Julie Fontenot Landry, a Louisiana native, is the author, coauthor, or translator of many works for children and adults incorporating the state's history and folklore. She is the daughter of the late Louisiana author Mary Alice Fontenot, with whom she collaborated on numerous projects, including writing the music, lyrics, and piano arrangements for several books in the Clovis Crawfish series. In addition to English, Landry speaks and writes the French of her Acadian ancestors and translates from one to the other, notably in the Clovis Crawfish series. She was awarded the CODOFIL prize for French prose in 1995. Since her retirement from forty-five years as a teacher and school administrator, Landry has continued to write. See less
