Joyce Carol Oates lives in Princeton, New Jersey, where she teaches at the university, as well as at New York University as Distinguished Writer in the Graduate Writing Program. A member since 1978 of the American Academy of Arts and Letters, she is a recent inductee into the American Philosophical Society.
