Joshua Hammerman, a rabbi and journalist, has since 1992 served as spiritual leader of Temple Beth El in Stamford, Connecticut. Hammerman recently completed a term as the first pulpit rabbi to be president of the Council of Churches and Synagogues of Southwestern Connecticut; ha also was Chairman of the Stamford Board of Rabbis.
