Jose Ruiz is an alarmingly young fella, being only twenty-two years of age, and has been writing since he was six years old. The dominant theme in many of his books is comedy, although he does not consider himself a humorist. He prefers to think of himself as a writer of modern-day fantasy, exploring what would happen if magic and myth really did exist, and how people might deal with it. All of his lengthier projects (bar one) explore this theme, and are largely serious stories, that while not real (due to all that darn magic), try for as much realism as possible. They can be sad at times, or emotional, or thought provoking, but he nevertheless, always put in a bit of humor, because humor makes the world go round. In his spare time, he's a computer game designer and farmhand, living right here in lovely Southern California. See less
