Lawyer and magazine publisher Jordan M. Wright began collecting memorabilia at the age of 10. In his life, he amassed a collection of more than a million objects. His goal was to create a permanent exhibit called the Museum of Democracy. When the original core of this book was published in 2008, it became the first public view of this collection. He suddenly passed away at age 50 and left his collection and his dreams of a museum to his family. He would be happy to know that the Museum of Democracy is now a reality at Long Island University in New York. In addition to the permanent exhibit, there is also a touring display of the collection, which makes guest appearances in museums and universities across the United States. Although he is not here to witness it, these exhibits and this new updated version of his book are here to keep Wright's dream and his collection alive. See less
