After completing his training with a New York company, Jonathan Pellegrin returned to Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin, and joined the family business, Johnson Hill Press. In 1976, he became the CEO. In 1994, PTN Publishing Company acquired the family firm. Pellegrin spent more than twenty-six years in publishing, beginning with his first magazine as a student at the University of Wisconsin. During his career, he developed more than thirty magazines. He served as the chairman of the American Business Press trade organization in 92-93. Following the successful sale of his family business, he was an executive in residence at the international graduate business school, IMD, in Lausanne, Switzerland. He earned a Doctorate at Business School Lausanne, where he wrote his dissertation on selling family companies. In 1995, Pellegrin was named one of the University of Wisconsin-Madison's distinguished business alumni. He taught entrepreneurship and strategy at the university's School of Business.
