Jon Cannon

Jon Cannon is an architectural historian who teaches undergraduate and MA courses in the departments of History of Art and Historical Studies at the University of Bristol. He is the author of The Stones of Britain: A History of Britain Through its Geology (Constable, 2018), Medieval Church Architecture (Shire, 2014), The Secret Language of Sacred Spaces (Watkins, 2013) and Cathedral: The English Cathedrals and the World that Made Them (Constable, 2011). A lay canon, Keeper of the Fabric, at Bristol Cathedral, and an accredited lecturer for the National Association of Decorative and Fine Art Societies, he also presented and co-wrote How to Build a Cathedral (BBC4, 2008).
