He is a two-time Emmy Award nominee and two-time Golden Globe nominee, and has received the Writers Guild Award, the Western Writers of America Award and the Western Heritage Award. His Hollywood roots have been transplanted to Santa Barbara, CA, where he is Writer in Residence and Adjunct English Professor for prestigious Westmont College.
