John Wells
John Wells was known as an actor, humourist and writer. He was co-editor of Private Eye with Richard Ingrams, with whom he wrote the long-running serials Mrs Wilson's Diary and the Dear Bill Letters. He wrote plays, a novel, two volumes of collected journalism and a history of the London Library. He died in 1997.
