John Stewart is an Australian-based evolutionary theorist and activist who is a member of the Evolution, Complexity, and Cognition Research Group of the Free University of Brussels. Previously, he worked as a labor union official, manager of Australia's north eastern fisheries, and as a senior policy advisor to the Australian Government on labor relations regulatory issues (including acting as the Government's advocate in major arbitration test cases). As an evolutionary theorist, his main focus has been on the trajectory of evolution. His work on the directionality of evolution and its implications for humanity has been published in numerous papers in peer-reviewed, international science journals.
