John R. Campbell is Professor Emeritus at the University of Missouri; Dean Emeritus at the University of Illinois; and President Emeritus at Oklahoma State University where he retired in 1999 after serving as president from 1988-93 and president emeritus from 1993-99. John R. Campbell is Professor Emeritus at the University of Missouri; Dean Emeritus at the University of Illinois; and President Emeritus at Oklahoma State University where he retired in 1999 after serving as president from 1988-93 and president emeritus from 1993-99. In addition to his presidency, Dr. Campbell served as a professor of animal science at Oklahoma State. He has taught at three land-grant universities and has lectured on various topics at more than 70 colleges and universities throughout the United States and Canada. Campbell is the author or co-author of several books and was recognized as a distinguished teacher by both the National Association of Colleges and Teachers of Agriculture and the American Dairy Science Association in 1973. He was named an Outstanding Educator of America in 1975 and received Gamma Sigma Delta's International Award for Distinguished Service to Agriculture in 1985. In 1977, Dr. Campbell became associate dean for resident instruction and, in 1983, dean of the College of Agriculture at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. See less
