John Ludlow
Dr. John Ludlow is a professor in the radiology section of the Department of Diagnostic Sciences and General Dentistry at the UNC School of Dentistry. He received his D.D.S. in 1978 and his M.S. in oral diagnosis and radiology in 1983 from the University of Michigan. Dr. John Ludlow is a professor in the radiology section of the Department of Diagnostic Sciences and General Dentistry at the UNC School of Dentistry. He received his D.D.S. in 1978 and his M.S. in oral diagnosis and radiology in 1983 from the University of Michigan. Dr. Ludlow came to UNC from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry, where he taught in the Department of Oral Diagnosis and Radiology from 1983-89. He lectures on a variety of radiology subjects including quality assurance, imaging technology, and image interpretation. He became a diplomat of the American Board of Oral Medicine (ABOM) in 1986 and of the American Board of Oral Maxillofacial Radiology (ABOMR) in 1992. He is past president of the ABOMR, and past director of the ABOM. He is chairman of the Board of Directors of the Caring Dental Professionals of North Carolina. Dr. Ludlow's research projects have included effects of processing on radiographic interpretation, digital image enhancement, and image reconstruction for early detection of periodontitis and periimplantitis patterns of bone loss. He has also done research on outcomes and attitudes associated with web based radiology instruction. His current projects include assessment of dosimetry of cone beam CT units, and pseudocephalometric reconstruction of CT volumes for orthodontic diagnosis. See less
