A minister for more than fifty years, Dr. John Click is a graduate of Baylor University and Southwestern and Midwestern Seminary, where he received his doctorate. For nearly twenty-eight years, he was the senior pastor of a six-thousand member congregation in Wichita, Kansas. Click's career as a minister has also taken him to many parts of the world, where he participated in preaching and teaching missions. Among his numerous travels were several trips to the Amazon, where he received inspiration for The Last Tribe. In 1968, he visited Vietnam on a fact-finding mission sponsored jointly by the White House and the Houston Junior Chamber of Commerce. This trip later became the subject of his photojournalism article entitled "Vietnam Diary," published by the Houston Chronicle as a Sunday supplement. Dr. Click and his wife Rubye have two daughters, and divide their time between Wichita, Kansas, and Hilton Head, South Carolina, where he serves as a volunteer teacher and preacher with the First Baptist Church.
