From her earliest days of childhood, Joan Clipp loved to draw. Despite doodling when she should have been taking notes in class, she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in graphic design. From her first collegiate experience at Daytona State College, to receiving her BFA from the University of West Georgia, she never stopped drawing, crafting, painting, and creating her art. With her husband, Mike, Joan started PolymerCAFÉ, a craft magazine about the wonderful world of polymer clay. The print publication ran from 2000 to 2015, and she still teaches and enjoys working in polymer clay and mixed media, making jewelry, animal and flower sculptures, and clay-on-canvas works. When not creating, she likes reading, writing, listening to live music, and walks on the beach. She lives and works in Port Orange, Florida. See less
