Jim Hunt
Jim Hunt was born and raised in Sarnia, Ontario. He graduated in 1948 from the newly established journalism course at the University of Western Ontario, and in fact was a member of the very first graduating class. Jim Hunt was born and raised in Sarnia, Ontario. He graduated in 1948 from the newly established journalism course at the University of Western Ontario, and in fact was a member of the very first graduating class. He joined the "Toronto Star" in general and political reporting, transferring to sports in 1953, under the legendary Milt Dunnell. It was all sports the rest of the way for Hunt: sports editor at the "Star Weekly"; news and sports director at radio station CKEY; ten years as co-host of the nationally syndicated "Prime Time Sports" on the FAN590, where he still appears on the morning show; and a regular panelist on CTV's Canada AM. Since 1983, he has been a sports columnist for the "Toronto Sun," for whom he still writes a regular weekly column. In 2001, he received the Achievement Award from Sports Media Canada. See less
