Jerry Sinise

A Texan by adoption, author Jerry Sinise was reared in Blue Island, Illinois. He was in the Navy during World War II and the Korean conflict. In 1950, he graduated from Phillips University in Enid, Oklahoma with a degree in journalism and psychology and served as the University's press relations director.
