Jeremy Sherman Ph.D, (decision theory), M.P.P. (public policy) has written over 475 articles for Psychology Today on practical decision-making and social dynamics, simplifying complex ideas in advanced life and social science research for application to our everyday choices, big and small. Sherman is a founding member of an 18 year old research project founded by Harvard/Berkeley biologist Terrence Deacon on the origins of life and with it, life's tough decision, the human condition and its roots in the challenges all of life faces, striving to do today what will work tomorrow. As such he brings a unique perspective to everyday decision-making, a focus on the deep roots of the experience that unites all of life, and in that context the unique challenges humans face. Sherman has worked as a business consultant and an award-winning professor teaching all of the behavioral sciences, from psychology to history, advertising to economics, evolutionary theory to philosophy. Prior to becoming an academic and science writer, Sherman worked as an environmental activist, founding a 25 year old national lobbying organization on environmental issues and managing one of the world's largest eco-villages. He has three children, and plays and sings jazz in groups throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. See less
