Originally from Paris, France, Dr Geschwind pursued his undergraduate studies at the University of Pennsylvania before receiving his medical degree in 1991 from Boston University School of Medicine. He completed his diagnostic radiology residency training at the University of California, San Francisco and trained in cardiovascular and interventional radiology at Johns Hopkins, where he became a faculty member in 1998. In 2002, Dr. Geschwind was promoted to the rank of Associate Professor and appointed Director of Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiology. He is the author or co-author of over 200 published manuscripts and abstracts primarily on subjects dealing with cardiac MRI and oncology, and he is also the recipient of numerous national and international awards and grants for his research in the field of liver cancer. Dr Geschwind is a member of the editorial board of the Journal of Vascular and Interventional Radiology (JVIR), Techniques in Vascular and Interventional Radiology, and the World Journal of Gastroenterology and a reviewer for numerous radiology and oncology journals. He is a member of the Hepatobiliary Task Force of the National Cancer Institute and has been a Board Member of the Society of Interventional Radiology Research Foundation since 2006.
