Jean Patefield
Jean Patefield was born and brought up in Lancashire and now lives in the Lake District. She was inspired to write this book by her own experience of visits to the Lakes and conversations with visitors. She is an experienced walker and the author of numerous popular walking guides, both in the Lake District and other parts of England. When not out enjoying the countryside, she enjoys playing and teaching bridge.
