Janet Christian grew up in San Antonio and has been writing fiction since childhood, winning several awards for her imaginative short stories. Some of her work was featured in published anthologies, including the annual Half Price Books award-winning "Say Goodnight to Illiteracy". Janet spent a long and industrious career as a professional technical writer, creating complex manuals for everything from operating systems to automotive fuel-injection systems. Janet continued writing fiction to escape the drudgery of describing hardware circuits and software routines. She also edited and published two magazines. Janet served as 2003 President of the Heart of Texas Sisters in Crime in Austin, and published her first novel in 2012. Now retired and writing full time, Janet lives with husband Eric on a hundred acre ranch near Lockhart, Texas, thirty miles south of Austin. Janet and Eric have four goofy dogs, an ever-changing population of cats, and a small herd of spotted-wool Jacob sheep.
