James Edwin Kirkwood was born in Houston, Texas and raised between there and the East Texas piney woods. He received his BS degree in Mathematics from Prairie View A&M University and an MBA from Texas Southern University. He spent 29 years in the US Army and retired as a Colonel.He served in a number of infantry positions to include platoon leader, company executive officer, company commander and aide-de-camp to MG Julius Becton in the First Calvary Division, division staff positions in the Second Armored Division and company commander in the Eighth Army (Korea). After retiring from the Army, he worked for several corporations before establishing his own IT consulting firm. James is single and has a son and daughter, five grandchildren, two great grandchildren and currently works on his tree farm in Texas. See less
