JAMES E. (JIM) McCARTHY was born in 1942 in Stratford, Ontario. WWII was raging, and, while his father was overseas, Jim and his mother lived with her parents in Stratford. When the war was over, dad took his family to live in Chatham, where Jim attended public school (he skipped a grade), then Goderich, where Jim attended high school. In 1959, Jim joined the RCAF. JAMES E. (JIM) McCARTHY was born in 1942 in Stratford, Ontario. WWII was raging, and, while his father was overseas, Jim and his mother lived with her parents in Stratford. When the war was over, dad took his family to live in Chatham, where Jim attended public school (he skipped a grade), then Goderich, where Jim attended high school. In 1959, Jim joined the RCAF. His Top Secret rating led to MANY adventures. Jim married, then had children. He learned to play drums and guitar, and played with various bands. Later, he was a DJ and a KJ. Over the years, he lived in Stratford, Chatham, Trenton, Niagara Falls, Goderich, Clinton, Belleville, London and Wasaga Beach (now residing there). His interests are in theatre, music, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry . . . learned while renovating his home. He is now (2023), age 81, a devoted Christian and thanks God profusely for his wife, Darla, and peaceful retired life. See less
